DIY Solar Panel Instructional
Client: Boston Architectural College and Sky Heat Associates
Length: 37 Minutes
Description: Dr. Richard Komp’s work in affordable solar technology helps make solar energy and electricity available to people around the globe. His solar module design has been taught in workshops in Haiti, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mali, Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, and San Andreas. When he agreed to do a workshop for the students competing in the 2009 Solar Decathlon for Team Boston, the Boston Architectural College decided this lesson was too valuable not to share.
I produced a 37 minute instructional video encompassing the entirety of the process, broken into 6 chapters: Introduction, Soldering, Testing, Encapsulation, Wiring, and Framing. The final video is currently undergoing post processing, and will be available via YouTube under the Creative Commons License this spring.
